Heat 1A

U-1 FormulaBoats Jimmy Shane 3rd 225
U-5 FormulaBoats* Jeff Bernard 5th 127
U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto* Steve David 4th 169
U-10 Hoss Mortgage I David Bryant 1st 400
U-13 Spirit of Detroit J Michael Kelly 2nd 300
*U-6 & U-5 both jumped the gun and had to run an additional lap.

David Bryant drove the U-10 to his first unlimited victory.  The was also the first race that Bryant could actually "race", meaning that they didn't make the rookie stay outside & at the back.  Congrats to David & the U-10 team!

Heat 1B

U-16 Miss Elam Dave Villwock 1st 400
U-21 Meyers Auto Brian Perkins* 2nd 300
U-25 Superior Racing Ken Muscatel 3rd 225
U-100 Mirage Boats** Greg Hopp 4th 169
*Rookie to start on outside & behind the pack.
**Jumped the gun, 1 lap penalty.

Muscatel went dead in the water just after the start but was able to get the U-25 restarted and go on to finish, I believe a 3rd place.  The flags appeared to be wrong at the end of the race, not giving Perkins the checkered on for the 2nd place finish.  I will keep you posted.

U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto Steve David 1st 400 569
U-13 Spirit of Detroit J Michael Kelly 2nd 300 600
U-3 Hoss Mortgage II went dead in a puff of smoke.  Can someone get these guys a lucky rabbits foot or something??

Heat 3A

U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto Steve David 2nd 300 869
U-5 FormulaBoats Jeff Bernard 1st 400 927
U-10 Hoss Mortgage I David Bryant 3rd 225 925

U-3 Hoss Mortgage II* Jimmy King DNS 0 0
U-9 Miss Conover Chris Bertram 2nd 300 769
U-13 Spirit of Detroit** J Michael Kelly DNF 0 600
*Opted out due to engine failure.  They have blown 2 of their 4 motors and wish to save the remaining ones for Seattle.
**1 lap penalty for lane encroachment, Kelly moved over on Bertram in turn 3 just before the start of the race.

Heat 3C

U-100 Mirage Boats Greg Hopp 2nd 300 694
U-16 Miss Elam Dave Villwock 1st 400 1200
U-21 Meyer's Auto Brian Perkins 4th 169 638
U-48 Lakeridge Paving Dave Williams 3rd 225 450
Brian Perkins & Dave Williams were allowed to race up on the front line for this heat, they were just told "not to be too competitive".  Perkins had an awesome start right on the money!

Provisional Heat saw U-13 take the win, U-48 take 2nd, U-21 jumped the gun & DNF, U-25 DNS, and the U-100 withdrew.

Final

U-6 Oh Boy! Oberto Steve David 2nd 300 1169
U-16 Miss Elam Dave Villwock 1st 400 1600
U-5 FormulaBoats Jeff Bernard 5th 127 1054
U-10 Hoss Mortgage I David Bryant 3rd 225 1150
U-37 Beacon Plumb* Jean Theoret 7th 83(?) 1183
U-9 Miss Conover Chris Bertram 6th 95 864
tr U-13 Spirit of Detroit J Michael Kelly 4th 169 769
*1 lap penalty for lane encroachment.

It looked like the entire field came to race. Bernard made a play for lane 1 and got it.  Theoret took lane 2, David lane 3 and Villwock was left with lane 4.  The Oberto & Elam jumped out in front by the end of turn 2.  The Oberto seemed to have found some extra speed, maybe from that new habenero jerky, and pulled away from Dave & the Elam.  But that burst of speed wouldn't last as Villwock powered past David on the outside.  Back in the pack, J Michael Kelly pushed his way through the pack to move from the trailer position to 4th place.
